Our Story
What started as a dream, is becoming a reality. Ever since reading “Hope Rising” by Kim Meeder, Kayla knew this was what God was calling her to do. To serve those around her using horses to draw them closer to God and show them His saving hope and grace. Growing up Kayla spent every moment she could around her great uncle and aunt’s horses. When she went to college her love and desire to work with horses grew. During her senior year at Taylor University the Lord began to show her more of the plan that He had for her; to minister to those of the Michiana area with the use of horses. Through lots of prayer and wisdom from the Lord, A Healing Hope was born.
Fast forward to today and A Healing Hope has a facility that is more than we could have ever hoped for! The Payton’s have graciously allowed us to start on their property. Located in Edwardsburg close to the Indiana board it is the perfect location to reach those of the Michiana area.
Meet Our Founder
Kayla Abbott is the visionary and founder of A Healing Hope. She has a Bachelor of Christian Educational Ministries from Taylor University. Kayla is also a certified CTRI and Equine Specialist through PATH, intl. She currently works as the elementary assistant at Gospel City Church. Kayla has been around horses her whole life. Growing up she did chores on her great uncle and aunt’s farm. During college she competed on her college’s hunt seat team. She enjoys riding horses, crocheting, being outside, and spending time with her family.
Kayla’s goal for A Healing Hope is to reach at-risk youth and children in our community by providing a safe space for them and their families to come and learn about the saving grace of God.
